2.2.1 Scope

Scope of the data

Data cover all employees which are registered in the social security system files (resident and cross-border commuters working in Luxembourg).
Exceptions to coverage

Persons residing in Luxembourg but working abroad (cross-border commuters working outside) are excluded from the domestic employment. These data also exclude the civil service of the EU and other European institutions (international civil servants).

Number of employed persons at the end of the month.

Number of employed persons at the end of the month.

IV. Nature of the Basic Data Sources
3.1.1 Source data collection programs

The source of the data is the administrative files from the Social Security (Inspection Générale de la Sécurité Sociale).

- Registered employment is a simple count.

- Data are expressed in level.
