Conferences and Meetings on Data Quality

  • The Conference on Data Quality for International Organizations will be held on April 27 - 28, 2006 in Newport, United Kingdom, immediately following the Q2006 - European Conference on Quality in Survey Statistics (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom, April 24 - 26, 2006). The Conference will be held under the auspices of the Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA). The conference website is http://unstats.un.org/unsd/accsub/.

  • European Conference on Quality in Survey Statistics (Q2006) - Invitation and Call for Abstracts April 24-26, 2006 in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom will focus on topics relating to quality criteria such as: accuracy, relevance, timeliness, accessibility, comparability and coherence of survey statistics, as well as the implementation of quality management tools and models. The Q2006 Program Committee invites anyone interested in presenting a contributed paper to submit their abstract by email to q2006@ons.gov.uk.   • The Conference on Data Quality for International Organizations was held on May 27 - 28, 2004 in Wiesbaden, Germany, immediately following the Q2004 - European Conference on Quality and Methodology in Official Statistics (Mainz, Germany May 24 - 26, 2004). The Conference was held under the auspices of the Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA). The conference website is http://unstats.un.org/unsd/accsub/CDQIO.htm.

  • Q2004, as part of an effort to enhance scientific exchange and cooperation on questions relating to quality and methodology, the European Conference on Quality and Methodology in Official Statistics (Q2004) was held on May 24-26, in Mainz, Germany. The conference website is http://q2004.destatis.de.

  • Symposium 2001, a Statistics Canada-sponsored conference on achieving data quality in a statistical agency from a methodological perspective, was held on October 17-19, 2001 in Ottawa, Canada. The conference focused on methods to meet the challenges of data quality, especially from the perspective of data accuracy.   • International Statistical Institute (ISI) : the 53rd Session of ISI was held in Seoul, Korea on August 22-29, 2001. The "Invited Paper Meetings" included a session on Quality Programs in Statistical Agencies, organized by Gordon J. Brackstone, Canada, and including papers detailing approaches to data quality by national and international statistical offices (session IPM12). For information, see: http://www.nso.go.kr/sqs2000/.

  • The International Conference on Quality in Official Statistics took place in Stockholm, Sweden on May 14-15, 2001. The conference brought together papers that represent the current thinking on quality issues in the field of official statistics. Papers were presented on a variety of topics including quality management models, the concept of quality, and measuring quality. The papers will be posted on the website at www.q2001.scb.se.

  • Statistical Quality Seminar 2000 took place on Cheju Island, Republic of Korea on December 6-8, 2000. The seminar was co-sponsored by the International Monetary Fund and the Korean National Statistical Office. The seminar covered a broad range of issues related to data quality, including tends and approaches to statistical quality assessment and national experiences in assessing and improving the quality of official statistics.
