Special Data Dissemination Standard

External Debt: Date of First Publication on the NSDP

External Debt. The SDDS calls for the dissemination of data on the external debt of the general government, the monetary authorities, the banking sector, and all other sectors, compiled in accordance with the fifth edition of the IMF's Balance of Payments Manual. Data should also be broken down by maturity - short-term and long-term on an original maturity basis - and by instrument. The transition period for the new quarterly external debt category expired March 31, 2003, meaning that data for the quarter ending on June 30, 2003 that meets the SDDS requirements had to be disseminated by end-September 2003. The table below indicates the dates of the first publication on the NSDP ofthese data:
