The preliminary data are made available to all users simultaneously by the Hauptverband der Österreichischen Sozialversicherungsträger through a press release.

0.1.1 Responsibility for collecting, processing, and disseminating statistics

  • Statistics are compiled according to Weisungen für die Erstellung der statistischen Nachweisungen für den Bereich der Krankenversicherung, a regulation of the Ministry of Social Affairs requiring that all employed persons be insured by Social Security. The regulation is updated yearly.
  • The publication of employment data is done as a public service.

0.1.3 Confidentiality of individual reporters' data

 

Since only aggregated figures are published, there are no problems of confidentiality.
In addition the Datenschutzgesetz of 1978 lays down general rules for the protection of individual data.

  • Copies of the regulation Weisungen für die Erstellung der statistischen Nachweisungen für den Bereich der Krankenversicherung, which is available in German only, can be obtained from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
