The Data: Coverage, Periodicity, and Timeliness
Coverage characteristics	5.1.1 Statistical presentation Data are disseminated on the number of employed persons in the Austrian economy according to the Social Security registers.
Periodicity	4.1.1 Periodicity Monthly
Timeliness	4.1.2 Timeliness Preliminary data are released two working days after the end of the reference month, and final data are released 15 working days after the end of the reference date.
Access by the Public
Advance dissemination of release calendar	5.1.3 Advance release calendar Precise release dates for 4 months in advance are published on the IMF's Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board (http://dsbb.imf.org/Applications/web/sddsctycatarclist/?strcode=AUT).
Simultaneous release to all interested parties	5.1.4 Simultaneous release The preliminary data are made available to all users simultaneously by the Hauptverband der Österreichischen Sozialversicherungsträger through a press release.
Integrity
Dissemination of terms and conditions under which official statistics are produced, including those relating to the confidentiality of individually identifiable information	0.1.1 Responsibility for collecting, processing, and disseminating statistics Statistics are compiled according to Weisungen für die Erstellung der statistischen Nachweisungen für den Bereich der Krankenversicherung, a regulation of the Ministry of Social Affairs requiring that all employed persons be insured by Social Security. The regulation is updated yearly. The publication of employment data is done as a public service. 0.1.3 Confidentiality of individual reporters' data   Since only aggregated figures are published, there are no problems of confidentiality. In addition the Datenschutzgesetz of 1978 lays down general rules for the protection of individual data. 1.2.1 Disclosure of terms and conditions for statistical collection, processing, and dissemination   Copies of the regulation Weisungen für die Erstellung der statistischen Nachweisungen für den Bereich der Krankenversicherung, which is available in German only, can be obtained from the Ministry of Social Affairs. Identification of ministerial commentary on the occasion of statistical releases	1.2.3 Attribution of statistical products There is no ministerial commentary attached to the publication.
Provision of information about revision and advance notice of major changes in methodology	4.3.1 Revision schedule The data become final 15 working days after the end of the reference date. 4.3.2 Identification of preliminary and/or revised data The press release indicates that the data are preliminary. 1.2.4 Advance notice of major changes in methodology, source data, and statistical techniques. If changes in social security legislation cause a modification of coverage, advance notice is given in the monthly publication.

Dissemination of documentation on methodology and sources used in preparing statistics	5.2.1 Dissemination of documentation on concepts, scope, classifications, basis of recording, data sources, and statistical techniques The monthly publication Beschäftigte in Österreich gives a description of sources and methodology. Dissemination of component detail, reconciliations with related data, and statistical frameworks that support statistical cross-checks and provide assurance of reasonableness	4.2.1 Internal consistency Tables in Beschäftigte in Österreich are broken down by region, age, sex, and economic activity. Data cover the reference month only.
