| Coverage characteristics | 5.1.1 Statistical presentation Data are disseminated in millions of Mexican pesos on the principal assets and liabilities of the Banco de México. Net credit to central government (Banco de México does not grant credit to local governments), commercial banks, development banks, and other financial intermediaries; it does not make loans to public and private enterprises, nor receive deposits from local governments, households or private firms. Thus, component detail includes the following separately disseminated items: claims on the central government; claims on the private banking sector; and net foreign assets (or gross foreign assets and gross foreign liabilities). | Dissemination of terms and conditions under which official statistics are produced, including those relating to the confidentiality of individually identifiable information | 0.1.1 Responsibility for collecting, processing, and disseminating statistics Banco de México The Banco of México is an autonomous body which operates under the Banco de México Law of December 1993. The law authorizes the Banco de México to publish economic and financial statistics. Article 62 (1) states the following: " The Banco de México shall be entitled, in conjunction with other competent authorities, to prepare, collect, and publish economic and financial statistics, operate information systems based thereon, and collect the data necessary for such purposes."
